Getting Relevant Information About Scholarships in Qatar University.

Qatar University was first known as College of Education that only consists of 57 males and 97 females’ way back in 1973. The small population expanded as the country’s uncontrollable progress in the late 1970’s. In 1977, the college of Education has been added with three colleges Humanities & Social Sciences; Sharia, Law, & Islamic Studies; and Science. It was then officially called as Qatar University. In addition, during the late 80’s, Qatar University welcomes another college on their family, College of Engineering, and the College of Business and Economics.

Academic Scholarships in Qatar University

There are numerous scholarships that Qatar University has to offer. Here are some lists of this scholarships that a student can avail:

  • Inhabitants of Qatar Scholarships
  • Scholarships for Children of Qatar University Employees (applicable to children whose parents are employed in the Qatar University)
  • Qatari National’s Children Scholarships (given to the students whose both parents are Qatari Nationals)

The different courses offered in the University claims a highly-standard academic status and have the ability to compete among any other world class universities. Qatar University is well known as they excel in some courses that they offered most especially in mechanical engineering education or course. This type of degree has something to do with the future employments wherein

Qatar is in great need of such mechanical and industrial engineering degrees to sustain the needs of more engineers as their progressive country shows a lot of different building and other establishment constructions for the past few years. Such degrees and courses are readily available in some scholarships offered by the University.

The craving of the government in Qatar to the people who graduated Industrial engineering degrees are obvious in some job hiring online. The fact that it has a greater and satisfactory wage-job made it easier for some to take up and grants scholarships on the said course.

Qatar University’s Scholarship Requirements & Conditions

The applicants of the offered scholarships as listed above should follow and has the qualifications and requirement to avail the said scholarship. In this case, one of the conditions to become scholar is that, the applicants parents should be a resident at Qatar. Applicant whose parents lived in other country will be rejected.

Another thing is that, the applicant should hold the Qatari Secondary Education Certificate which covers classes in First, Second and Third class which exclusively and obviously graduated and finished secondary education in Qatar. Also, the applicant should submit and complete all the necessary requirement on the fully due date submission of the main documents such as a letter of completion for high school levels (including first, second and third level) in Qatar, a clear photocopy of the applicants birth certificate, and a photocopy of the Qatar ID of the applicants parents, either, mother or father.

  1. I have a question rather than a comment…must applicants for the Islamic and other countries (internal or external scholarships) have their parents here too?

    • I don’t think so but it would have to depend really on the body of organization you want to apply that scholarship here in Qatar. Each university, organization or foundation has separate guidelines.
